Vireo C2 review: the camera that makes you want to go outside

A beautifully simple mirrorless camera with a bright prime lens and film-like colour. It’s slow in places, and we love it anyway.

The Vireo C2 is a camera built around feel. Every important setting has its own dial, the shutter has a soft, satisfying click, and the colour profiles make JPEGs look finished without any editing.

Image quality

The 26-megapixel sensor and bright 23mm lens produce sharp, natural images with gentle background blur. Skin tones are particularly flattering, and the film simulations are good enough that we stopped shooting RAW after the first week.

Where it slows down

Autofocus is quick in daylight but hunts indoors after dark, and the small battery means carrying a spare for a full day out. For street and travel photography, those are compromises we’d happily make.
